Original German WWII M35 Ex DD Heer Helmet
Up for sale is a very nice and original German WWII Double Decal Heer Helmet with a rich combat history. This M35 originally began its life as a German WWII Double Decal Heer Helmet, and then re-issued later in the war to the Heer once more. We can note both the original apple green finish, mixed with the re-issued darker green coat. This ultimately gives the piece a lot of character with a strong combat appeal. The German Heer eagle shows heavy sings of wear and use, as after its re-issued, the decal was not replaced. The German tri-color national shield is very well outlined, however still completely covered by the re-issued dark green paint.
The inside shell is a matching condition to the exterior with a complete late war pigskin liner and a once named skirt ! The leather liner is still in very good condition with some signs of use and sweat stains from WWII. The brim of the helmet was engraved at one point – but scratched out. This is a common occurrence when soldiers surrendered, and did not want links back to their equipment.
Batch Number : 469
Manufacture : Q 64
